My Skin So Far with Clinica Lase

The below photos are from the moment I first decided I actually wanted to have some control over my skin. I had gone through my life being happy when my skin was fine and not feeling like I had any power to change when it wasn’t. I took these pictures as kind of a before photo. Even though these were around a year before I started going to Clinica Lase, they are a really important moment for me. I began trying different skin products. I went to see professionals about never-ending acne and rashes. By the time I saw Clinica Lase I had been bumbling my way through changing skincare for about 12 months. Had I learned anything? No. At that point I felt like my skin was a mystery, absolutely everything on the shelves worked solely by a placebo effect and that radical changes to skin were a myth. I was a standard skincare sceptic.

It was at this point – seeing a dermatologist, taking medication and using a cream – that I connected with Clinica Lase. I’d been seeing them already as a client of other things and it was a challenging choice for me to take on an ambassadorship with them. Because I believed all skincare was nonsense (as I had never seen any serious or long term results) I didn’t want to share with people following me something I didn’t wholeheartedly believe in. The team at Clinica Lase encouraged me to be as honest as possible about my experiences. I made the tough choice of deciding to do just that, even if it meant that Clinica Lase wasn’t as amazing as their results with other clients seemed to show.

Luckily for me, they actually were that amazing. We began treating my skin with a light laser called Laser Genesis. It was my first experience of laser and I was really confronted by it. I was scared of the feeling and the process but they guided me through it. The redness in my skin improved significantly almost immediately. The laser was partnered with a lactic peel as well as an easy kit of cleanser, serum and moisturiser to help get my skin back in balance. Results were immediate. In under a month I was no longer in need to medication, creams or a dermatologist. The balance in my skin began to restore.

Each Laser Genesis treatment and lactic peel, I would feel the areas of my skin buzzing where the imbalance was. Then there would be a small break out for a week or so as the skin repaired and pushed out any stuff hovering below the surface. By three months I was loving how balanced my skin was and was starting to forget having pimples.

The difference between me then and me now is that now I know that there are skin products in the world that DO work. There are beautify treatments that can help with many skin concerns. To me it now feels as easy as eating the right food to fuel my body or getting the right amount of sleep. I know when my skin is tired and I need to help it clean with the great cleanser I use. I know when it is dry and that the moisturiser I have will actually do what it’s meant to do. I know if my skin is showing red and patchy a Laser Genesis is one easy way to reinvigorate what’s going on underneath the surface.

I’ve also been connected to a bunch of other treatments and each on has had different results for my skin and been a very different experience. If I felt my skin was limp and thin and dull, I’d have a Limelight. If I felt my skin was exhausted from sun exposure, spotty or the texture was not changing with other treatments, I’d look at Pico Genesis. If I was worried about scarring I’d go for Clear and Brilliant.  If my skin is dry or I have to wear a lot of heavy stage makeup for a show, I know I’ll have to support my skin with the best products so my skin can remain balanced.

So to celebrate a year of great skin, of learning how to take care of it and becoming confident and in tune with my own face, here are some before and after pictures. My first ever skin photograph followed by my skin 1 year on.

I love the difference between the pictures, but I love that this is the skin I get to wear every day.
