Tuesday Taster: Edward and a Scarf

I’ve just come home from a French lesson where I ran from my teacher’s house to my car, clutching my textbooks to my chest to protect them from the rain. It’s chilly and I have the heater on to fight the cold and stop it from settling into my skin. It’s weather for wearing many layers, and time to start wearing a scarf around my neck. Except, I tend to find I wear scarves more in spring and summer than in winter. Maybe that means I should invest in more winter scarves? Perhaps it just means that I wear more scarves in warmer months because I can style them multiple ways, like this one I’m wearing today.

Now when I say ‘today’ I clearly don’t mean that we photographed all these photos in the late autumn rain of today. These were taken when the days were long and my aunt’s garden was the perfect place for lounging around in the afternoon. I mean for today’s blog post! This particular scarf I inherited from my late grandmother and it has pictures of puppies on it. I thought it a perfect match for this outfit post sharing the charming Edward brooch set from Bok Bok B’Gerk.

I love this outfit! I love the orange shoes clashing with the green and blue. It adds a bit of spark and happiness to the outfit. Something I think Edward, our bow-tie wearing dog, would approve of. My aunt disagreed, so when taking these photos she insisted I switch to a green pair halfway through. I love the matching style of the green, but the orange for me is just that little bit more cheeky.

It’s not the only thing that changed throughout this shoot. I started wearing the scarf around my neck and then, as I do, I played with it and ended up with it in my hair. It’s a style I rarely wear, but I feel I should try more often. Variety is the spice of life.

While this brooch of Edward the dog is partnered with a bone, he does make me think of Aunt Marge’s dog Ripper in Harry Potter. Especially where she invited him to drink her brandy (it’s tea in the book). He’s very proper and I think if Aunt Marge could have, she may have dressed Ripper the same.

Bok Bok B’Gerk are a local brand for whom I’m proud to be a brand ambassador. The collection is all designed by Michelle, then they are laser cut locally, and hand painted. The wood used is eco-friendly and comes from rapid growing alder trees that increase nitrogen and organic matter in the soil, which helps improve soil fertility. So much love and care behind one little brooch!
